You can avail income tax benefits on your travel expense.To avail the tax benefit ,you must submit the proof of leave, travel tickets, and boarding pass in case of air travel to your employer, and you have to be on leave during travel.You can upload bills that exceed your limit as set by your organization but tax will be exempted on the amount your organisation allotted to you for LTA. Limit of number of claim varies with organisation's guideline.Bill can get declined:

  • If employee is not part of travel
  • If employee is not on leave during travel
  • Dependent are not travelling with employee
  • If travel is not domestic
  • If employee travel by local cab
  • If employee submit hotel, food, and any other travel related bill apart from transport bill

Submitting claims consists of few steps. These are as follows:

  • Enter travel's details

  • Enter traveller's details
  • Enter Dependant's details
  • Enter the amount spent 

  • Declare relationship of dependant with you

  • Upload  and submit bills for review

Prerequisites

  • Domestic travel
  • Travel should be performed by the employee or employee and his family (spouse, children, dependent Parents, and siblings) together
  • The travel should be in the employee’s name
  • Leave for a minimum of 3 working days to be taken         
  • LTA Claim should be approved by HR (Leave confirmation)

Required documents to submit claims are:

  • Travel bills
  •  Boarding passes
  •  Leave application

If the bill paid using Zeta super card or app, Zeta team verifies and approves the bill for income tax benefits. If paid with other payment instruments, Zeta team verifies the bill and transfers the amount from your LTA card to the cash card post successful verification.

Enter Travel details

  1. Open the Zeta App.
  2. From Cards tab, navigate to OPTIMA LTA CARD> Claim  Travel Reimbursement.
  3. After you click Claim  Travel Reimbursement, a Tip page appears to guide you about required documents which you are supposed to upload for submitting  LTA claims:
     
  4. If all the mentioned documents are readily available with you, click I AM READY. LETS GO.
  5. Select the mode of travel from the Mode of Travel drop-down menu.

    You can chose mode of travel based as train, flight, bus, car.If you travelled through some other means, in that case chose other option.


  6. Enter the origin and destination of your travel.
  7. Select the date of travelling.
  8.  If required, click Add Return or Connecting Trips. It opens a page to enter connecting trip's detail. 
  9.  After entering all the details, you can click Add Trip.

  10. Click Add Another Trip if you need to add another trip's details. Otherwise, click NEXT to enter traveller's details.


    If you don't need to add any connecting trip or add any trip, then click NEXT right away after entering your first travel details.It directs you to  Enter Traveller's Details page.

    If you take connecting flight, in that case, you don’t need to specify via which city you travelled. Just enter it as one trip with the source and the destination.

Enter travellers' details

  1. Enter your first name, last name, and date of birth in the respective fields, and click ADD TRAVELLER.
  2. Click Add Dependent if any of your dependants travelled with you. 
  3. Enter required details of dependent, and click ADD DEPENDENT.
  4.  If more than one dependent travelled with you, then click icon beside ADD DEPENDENT,otherwise, click NEXT to  upload the required documents for submitting claims.

Submit Claim

  1. To upload documents, tap on the option corresponding to the document which you need to upload.
    Once you tap the option, it will prompt you to take photo of your document or choose an existing photo of document from your gallery.
  2.  After selecting the photo of the document, click DONE.
  3. Enter the correct amount to claim, and click DONE again.
  4. .After uploading all the required documents,click SUBMIT CLAIM.
  5. Click OK to complete the submission of documents.
